FAQ
Have questions about Rescue Legends? Check out our frequently asked questions below!
Do I need to have a pet or rescue animal to play?
Nope! Anyone can play. You’ll still get cards, complete missions, and learn about animal care—even if you don’t have a pet at home.

What if I’m scared of animals?
That’s okay! Many missions don’t require direct contact with animals. You can learn, create, and help rescue animals in other ways. Rescue Legends is about kindness and care, not forcing you to interact with animals if you don’t want to. Our programs also supports learning how to work with a fear of animals!

I don’t really like animals. Will I still enjoy Rescue Legends?
Yes! Rescue Legends is a mix of adventure, storytelling, and real-world action. Even if you’re not an “animal person,” you may enjoy the games, collectibles, and missions that build teamwork, creativity, and leadership skills.

How do the missions work?
Each card reveals a shield color that assigns a mission to a mission class. Visit Mission Headquarters on our website, and click the color shield that matches your card. Then you get to choose a mission to complete from that class! Missions can be all sorts of things—like making a toy to donate, learning an animal fact, or doing an act of kindness. By completing missions, you earn badges, build skills, and rank up as a Rescuer!

Is it just a card game?
Rescue Legends is more than a card game—it’s a collectible adventure! Cards introduce you to real rescue animals who’ve been turned into “Legends.” You use the cards to guide missions, read their adventure stories, and explore a bigger world of rescue.

Can I play alone, or do I need friends?
You can play solo or with others! Some kids like to collect and complete missions by themselves, while others enjoy teaming up with friends or family.

What age is Rescue Legends for?
The game is designed for kids ages 6–12, but anyone who loves stories, missions, or animals can join in.

How do I get started?
You can start with a Starter Kit! This includes a pack of cards, badge chart, guidebook, rescue wrist collar, and free download for a first Legend adventure.

What does it mean to be a rescue animal?
A rescue animal is a pet that was adopted from a shelter, foster program, rescue group, or rehomed from an unsafe or uncertain situation. These animals often have stories of courage, kindness, and second chances!
I would like to nominate my rescue animal to be a Legend. How do I know if they qualify?
If your pet was adopted or rescued—whether from a shelter, foster care, the street, or another tough situation—they qualify!

What kind of animals can be Rescue Legends?
Currently are welcoming nominations to just dogs and cats, rabbits, and birds - more to come!
Can I nominate my rescue more than once?
Yes! If your pet doesn’t get picked this time, don’t worry—you can nominate them again in the next round. Every season brings new Legends!
What makes a good nomination entry?
Providing us with as many details as possible to really understand your animal's story, physical features, and personality (as well as a clear picture and detailed picture) is the best way to submit a great entry!
Who can submit a nomination?
Kids ages 6-12 (with help from a grown-up) can nominate their rescue animal.
What happens if my animal is chosen?
If selected, your animal becomes an official Rescue Legend with their story featured on a trading card and in a real adventure story as part of the Rescue World. You’ll get a special reward to celebrate your animal too!
Does it cost anything to enter?
Nope! Nominating your rescue is completely free.
Can I nominate more than one pet?
Absolutely! If you’ve given love and a home to more than one rescue, we want to hear about all of them.
Will I be notified if my pet is selected?
Yes! We’ll contact you directly before announcing the next Rescue Legends. Keep an eye on your email and check back on our website for updates.
